RE

Intent

The aim of RE is to explore what people believe and the difference this makes to how they live.

It contributes dynamically to children’s education by provoking

challenging questions about issues of right and wrong and what it means to be human.

Implementation

RE teaching at GGA is inclusive of those with all faiths and those with none.

Teaching spans a broad range of global faiths with children able to learn about and from the beliefs of others. All children are encouraged to be curious and explore the faiths of others.

In RE children learn skills to critically evaluate, analyse and communicate.

Children are provided with opportunities to meet people from a range of faiths both through opportunities to visit local places of worship and through visitors who come into school.

They are able to debate moral issues openly and respectfully.

Impact

GGA pupils develop great empathy and tolerance through our RE curriculum.

They are able to engage critically with deep issues and express themselves eloquently, with a deep sense of respect for others.

Pupils show great interest in others from across the globe: their beliefs, way of live and the choices others make.
