"Congratulations to all our pupils who took part in the recent Bedfordshire Festival of Music Speech & Drama. The staff and governors at Goldington Green Academy are extremely proud of all of the children and their achievements in Poetry, playing a musical instrument, Prepared Reading and the Choir. Thank you to all the children for all their hard work leading up to the festival and also to Mrs Peck and the parents for all their support!"
Thank you to Mrs Moore, our guest Chef Alex Herbert, parents and pupils for a wonderful event this morning with the "Great British Bake Off", your hard work, passion, enthusiasm and organisation paid off the atmosphere in Ash Class was wonderful and the sense of purpose, competition but also team work with the children and parent cooking together was excellent. Congratulations to Mrs Hussey, James and Emilia for having their family signature dish of spaghetti carbonara being judged the winning dish.
“As the year draws to a close and another chapter in the life of Goldington Green Academy ends, it seems impossible to comprehend all that has happened since September! I have to say it has been an exciting year and one that has seen us move all the closer to becoming a Primary School. As this is the final Newsletter of the academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who have helped in school this year, particularly those who have given their time freely to help the children develop their reading and cooking skills and also enabled us to enrich the children’s curriculum by taking them on trips and outings that without support could not go ahead. Thank you to our PTFA and all those who support all the different events we have had during the year. A huge thank you to ALL the staff including teachers, TAs, office staff, lunchtime, cleaning and kitchen staff, Premier Sport and all our peripatetic music staff for going the extra mile everyday to make the school a happy and safe learning environment. I certainly think everyone deserves a well earned and relaxing summer break! Finally I would like to thank all the Governors of GGA for their valuable support, dedication and expertise they bring to help make the right decisions so that all our children flourish and prosper.”
"Wishing Mrs Carpenter good luck and good bye as she moves on to pastures new after 10 years at GGA"
“ Welcome back to all our children and their families and a warm welcome to all our new starters and their families in this exciting transition period as we become a primary.”
I trust you all had a happy half term holiday, and welcome back to the 2nd half of the Autumn Term, our busy term as we approach the festive season! Just before half term we held 2 extremely successful Grandparents Luncheons hosting over 180 visitors over the two days. Thank you to all those who came along and made the event so magical. We have, listed in this newsletter, the many ways in which we communicate with our families - we are always very keen to work with you to ensure the best provision for our children. If you have a query or concern please do make an appointment to see your class teacher or myself. I have a very committed team here at GGA and we will always
listen and seek to work with you. I look forward to seeing you at the forthcoming events leading up to Christmas.
The trees are now decorated and the school is looking festive. This year we trialled a different Christmas production including a new venue, it was AMAZING!!. As we grow in size yet still retaining our ethos of being one big family children in Years 1-5 performed together and it was truly magical. Mr Illingworth and his band were fantastic in accompanying the children’s singing and the night is certainly one to remember. Thank you to all parents friends and family who attended and supported the school and the children.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a festive holiday period.
Mrs Peck and Mrs Viola have also been busy decorating a Christmas tree in St Paul’s church in the market square with the wonderful decorations creatively made and sewn by Mrs King and the children, please do go and have a look.
Welcome back everyone and a Happy New Year to you all and I would like to wish you all a happy and successful 2018. The holidays went super fast but I hope you all enjoyed some quality time with your family and friends.
Thank you to the many children, parents and carers for the gifts and cards that were sent or given to the staff at the end of last term, they were very muchappreciated.
As per a previous Newsletter please be aware that we are reducing hard copies of information sent to parents so please do look at the school app, website and podiums for news and events.
